Atlantic White Cedar is a naturally durable softwood that’s widely used as exterior siding or decking material for its decay resistance and durability.
About Atlantic White Cedar
Atlantic White Cedar is native to the Atlantic coast of North America and is found from southern Maine to Georgia and along the Gulf of Mexico coast from Florida to Mississippi. The sapwood is narrow and white, while the heartwood is light brown with a reddish or pinkish tinge. A lightweight wood, it has a fine texture and straight grain. Resistant to decay, it works easily with tools, won’t shrink a lot, finishes smoothly, and takes paint well.
Why Atlantic White Cedar
Atlantic White Cedar has a straight grain, with a fine uniform texture and consistent density that makes it less likely to warp, cup, or twist.
